Work for us

We employ a team of around 22 people. Many of our staff are from the Islington communities that we work with.

Current vacancies

Head of Business Operations and Community Development (Part-time, fixed term contract)

A key member of the senior leadership team (alongside the Chief Executive and the head of services), contributing to the delivery of the organisation’s strategic and operational goals. In this exciting and varied role, you will be overseeing the core functions of the organisation, you will maintain a helicopter view of Help on Your Doorstep’s services, partnerships and teams. We are looking for someone who is solution focussed, uses their initiative and committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment where well-being is prioritised.

Operations and Communications Manager (Part-time, fixed term contract)

The Operations and Communications Manager will have direct responsibility for day to-day management of our premises and systems, maintaining our social media presence and website, and taking responsibility for some areas of compliance and health and safety. We’re looking for an individual who is tech savvy who enjoys creating and managing excellent IT and online systems. The Operations and Communications Manager role is varied, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working across a spectrum of tasks and who has a healthy appetite to learn.

Connect Advisor - Outreach, Referrals and Community Navigation (Full-time, permanent)

Help on Your Doorstep Connect Advisors support residents in Islington by providing direct support, signposting and providing advocacy and support with form filling. Job shares also considered. We are actively recruiting so early application is encouraged. 

If you are a proactive self starter with a passion to empower people experiencing challenges in Islington, then this could be the role for you!

    How to get help for yourself or someone you know

    Volunteer for us

    After the Covid-19 Pandemic started in 2020 Help on Your Doorstep recruited over 60 volunteers to help with urgent essential deliveries of food and befriending people who were isolated due to shielding, self isolation and lockdown.  These volunteers made a real difference to people’s lives - whether they supported one person or many.  Now we are moving to a new phase, needs are changing and we need new volunteers.
