Our Connecting for Change evaluation report is launched

Since May 2019, we have been working with the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) to evaluate our Connecting for Change programme, a four-year initiative funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF).

Since May 2019, we have been working with the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) to evaluate our Connecting for Change programme, a four-year initiative funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF). This programme provides ongoing support, advice and referrals for residents experiencing challenges in Islington so they get the support they need to thrive and live well.

The findings of this evaluation can be found in a report here: Working together in community support. This report explores how our work is evolving in order to make a difference to people in Islington, especially as life is becoming tougher in an increasingly challenging socio-economic climate.

In relation to why we commissioned this report, Ken Kanu, our Director says;

"We commissioned this work because we wanted to learn how we could do better in those areas that are within our control. Our focus has been on the relationships that we create with those who use our services, and with partner organisations. It is my belief that within these areas there is an incredible amount of strength and energy that can be unlocked to counteract the pressures elsewhere in the system, and more importantly to make a positive difference to people’s lives."

We encourage you to read and share this report with your members and/or network. We hope the report shares some key insights about how our work has succeeded in supporting vulnerable residents, some of this learning may be applicable to community work beyond the Borough.

Read the report here to find out more. Our thanks to IVAR for their dedication to evaluating this project and capturing what works well and what can be strengthened. This learning encourages us to learn and grow so we can continue to support Islington residents to the best of our abilities.
