If you’re a parent in Islington you could use your skills to volunteer with the Parent House and help other parents access support to overcome a wide range of issues. This is a brilliant opportunity to develop your experience and skills to find work. The Parent House is looking for a six month commitment from volunteers and in return will provide free training and support.

Manor Gardens is looking for mental health champion volunteers to promote positive mental wellbeing in the local community for colleagues, clients, patients or people you encounter on a daily basis. Every champion is provided with free training and are then part of a network of champions with ongoing support, training events and information to help people in Islington develop and maintain good mental wellbeing.

If you have experience of cancer you can influence the work that Cancer Research UK does by joining an Insight Panel as a volunteer. By sharing your experience you’ll help Cancer Research UK decide what their research priorities are. The closing date for applications is the 14 April.

If you are a parent or have experience of parenting, Home Start is looking for volunteers to provide support and friendship to families with young children who are going through a difficult time. If you’re able to give 3 – 4 hours a week this is the perfect opportunity to make a real difference.

Sunnyside Community Gardens is looking for gardening volunteers. This is a great opportunity to learn about gardening and have a big impact. You’ll be joining a really sociable and diverse community of people.

Laamiga, a small charity run by women, is looking for female volunteer mentors to support minority ethnic and migrant women to look for work, improve their English or simply gain confidence and set new goals. Full training is provided and women of all ages and experience are welcome.

If you’d like to volunteer in the creative arts there are lots of opportunities available with the Pleasance Theatre Trust at its festival fringe venues this summer. The programme will give you hands on experience and peer to peer learning.

Islington Keep Our NHS Public (KONP) is looking for a part-time volunteer who can commit to a minimum of 2-3 hours a week to support their communications efforts. Are you a parent who would like to volunteer your time to support other families? The Parent House Outreach Project is looking for volunteers and also has a range of free courses including ESOL. 

Could you help bereaved people? St Joseph's Hospice in Islington needs volunteers. You don't need to have previous experience just good communication skills, empathy and flexibility to offer 5-6 volunteering hours a month.
