Talk and listen, be there, feel connected

It's important to stay connected.

The simplest way to stay connected is to pick up the phone and talk to friends, neighbours and family. Get in touch with people to check that they are okay and to lift your and their mood. If you are able to talk to people via WhatsApp, FaceTime, Skype, etc.

AgeUK Islington provide a range of services to people aged 16-50, 50+ and carers. They have a range of get togethers - check their latest get together calendar for more information.

BlindAid provide telephone support for blind and sight impaired people across Islington.

Black Women's Link Project is about linking women together to share ideas, experiences, and stories. Through talking and listening as a group, this initiative hopes to address and resolve unhelpful patterns of behaviour and thinking, relieve isolation, increase self-esteem and bring awareness to the issue of loneliness in Black women. Whilst this initiative is aimed at reducing loneliness amongst Black women, it is open to all and promotes inclusivity.

Carers UK is  here to make sure that no matter how complicated your query or your experience, you don't have to care alone. Caring can be extremely complicated get the support you need on their website from their online forums and fact sheets.

Centre 404 offers a range of high quality services to assist children and adults with a learning disability and their family carers. For general enquiries, please ring  020 7607 8762 or email They are supporting families through COVID-19 with additional resources online. 

Clic is a new online support community that anyone in the UK can access 24/7 for free mental health support. It includes an online forum where you can chat about how you’re feeling and connect with others, as well as accessing mental health information tools, tips and resources. To ensure everyone's safety and security the site is moderated 24 hours a day.

Copenhagen Youth Project offers support and activities to young people in Caledonian and Barnsbury wards.

Coffee and Computers offer free support and resources on using technology. They have a useful guide on making video calls over the internet.

Finsbury Park Mosque are offering spiritual and moral support to people who live in N4, N7 or N19. Please call 020 7424 5252.

Good Neighbours Schemes in Kings Cross (Priory Green), Bemerton and New River Green (Canonbury) offer opportunities to connect with others in your community.

Kinship runs an advice service  for kinship carers. You can also join their kinship community to hear stories and news and attend their support groups. They are continuing to support kinship carers throughout COVID-19.

Talk For Health is a social enterprise improving mental health. It was started in 2008 by Nicky Forsythe, an Accredited Psychotherapist, to teach people an evidence-based method for therapeutic talking. It is as effective as therapy.
