Help on Your Doorstep is proud to be officially recognised as a Living Wage Employer by the Living Wage Foundation, meaning that all who work for us earn a fair living wage.

The current Living Wage in London is £10.75, significantly higher than the government minimum wage for over 25s, which currently stands at £8.72 per hour.

The Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 230,000 people and put over £1 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers. We are proud to be officially recognised as part of this movement.

In London nearly a fifth of all jobs (19%) pay less than the real Living Wage - around 785,000 jobs. We have joined the Living Wage movement to stand united with over 7,000 other UK employers who say that this is not fair. We believe that it our duty as a responsible employer and charity to pay the real Living Wage and deliver a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.
