The Bemerton Good Neighbours Scheme is run by Help on Your Doorstep and was established in 2017. The Scheme aims to build a stronger, more resilient local community by addressing issues related to isolation and improving the health and wellbeing of residents.

The Bemerton Good Neighbours Scheme (GNS) is for the residents of Bemerton Estate, Delhi Outram, Naish Court/ Wellington Square, York Way Court, Tiber Gardens, Julius Nyerere Close, Cowdenbeath Path, Stanmore Street and Lion Court in the N1 area of Islington. It is funded by Islington Giving and Islington Council.

The overall goal of the GNS is for people to thrive, have a good quality of life and live in happy and healthy communities. It focuses on the following intermediate outcomes, working to ensure that residents:

  • have the skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve their goals
  • participate in activities that improve their wellbeing
  • have good access to support networks
  • are supported by high quality services
  • are positive about themselves
  • work together for the common good.

We are looking an experienced and dedicated Good Neighbours Coordinator (28 hours per week) to lead the delivery of the Bemerton GNS from January 2021.
